Stewart D. Young
Mr Young was Managing Director of the HongkongBank group's Australian corporate advisory subsidiary, Wardley James Capel, prior to Hill Young.
Mr Young joined the HongkongBank group in 1978 in Hong Kong and subsequently worked in Indonesia, Singapore and London before transferring to Australia in late 1981. He was previously with Hill Samuel in London in its Corporate Finance Division. Originally, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in London spending three of his six years there in management consulting.
Mr Young graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from University of Lancaster and qualified as a Pilot Flying Officer with the Royal Air Force.
Colin Fermanis
Mr Fermanis has been involved in banking since 1983.
He joined Deutsche Bank, Sydney in 1983. In 1984, he was transferred to Germany and for the next two and a half years, worked mainly in the group’s overseas corporate division. In 1987 he returned to Australia and joined State Bank of New South Wales. Progressing quickly with the State Bank, was promoted to being responsible for corporate lending for the group in Sydney. In 1997 Mr Fermanis established his own business, specialising in fund-raising for corporate clients.
Prior to entering banking, Mr Fermanis was a financial journalist with the Australian newspaper. He graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Economics.
